Recovering Kenya's metal and putting it back to work
NUEF Technology was founded in 2020 by Dr. Jackson Obara Onyango in Nairobi, Kenya. What started as a small collection round now runs as a full recovery, refining and export operation from our own yard at Gataka Road, Nairobi, Kenya — buying raw material locally, processing it to international grade, and shipping aluminium ingot, UBC, copper, gold and mineral concentrates to mills, smelters and refiners abroad.
The business rests on two commitments. Suppliers get honest weights and prompt payment. Buyers get material that matches the spec on the contract — assayed in our own laboratory, photographed and documented before the container is sealed.
Every tonne we recover is a tonne that does not need to be mined twice. Recycled copper and aluminium re-enter manufacturing at a fraction of the energy cost of virgin metal, and the value stays in the Kenyan economy through the collectors, drivers and yard teams we work with.
